Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can I reproduce photographs from the WW2DB photo gallery in my book, television show, or website?

Whenever possible, WW2DB shares the name of the source where the photograph is obtained from; if available, this information can be found beneath the caption of each photo. If the source denotes a United States government agency or a branch of the United States military, the associated photograph is in the public domain, and you can use it as you see fit. In other cases, the source listed may contain hints on the copyright status. In all cases, you are certainly welcomed to contact us for more information, but it may be best to consult an intellectual property attorney for this information instead of trying to determine on your own.

Do you have higher resolution versions of photographs seen in the WW2DB photo gallery?

No. WW2DB almost always has the highest resolution versions available in our online gallery.

Can you help me locate former comrades or locate WW2-era service records?

No. WW2DB does not have working relationship with any veteran associations nor governmental archives, and we have little in terms of that kind of information. The best source of such information would be organizations or agencies in the two previously stated categories.

Can you help me determine the value of a piece of WW2-era artifact?

WW2DB is not involved in collecting nor trading of militaria, and has little to no knowledge in the evaluation of artifacts.

Can I send you a review copy of my book for a review on WW2DB?

Yes, but please keep in mind that we usually do not have a quick turn around; publishing a review 2 to 6 months after the receipt of the review copy is typical, and this timing is not guaranteed. Please contact us with the form above, tell us more about your book, and ask for our shipping address.

Can I advertise on WW2DB?

Yes, we accept advertising, but only from businesses operating in areas related to WW2 history. Please review our rate sheet and contact us with the form above to tell us more about your WW2 history related business.

Is WW2DB looking to expand its staff?

No, we are not looking for more contributors at this time.
