Atlantic Ocean
  • Alpino Bagnolini surfaced in the Atlantic Ocean at 1430 hours for radio communications. At 1630 hours, four explosions were heard to the port side, followed by four explosion on the starboard side. Submerging, her crew would soon realize that the intended target was another submarine, and the attacks would continue for some time.
