- British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain finally agreed to hold a talk with the Soviet Union. Later on the same day, British and French ambassadors in Moscow, Russia presented a draft agreement for Soviet Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Molotov to review, who received the wording coolly. ww2dbase [Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact | CPC]
- The United States Navy Fleet Auxiliary USS Dixie was launched at the New York Shipbuilding Corporation shipyard in Camden, New Jersey, United States. Under the command of Lieutenant Commander G. H.
