ww2dbaseThe Loping Airfield was built near Jiexiangxiang in Yunnan Province, southern China, near the border with Burma. It was primarily used as a base for transport aircraft that had flown into China over the eastern Himalaya Mountains, also known by the nickname "The Hump". The base was closed in late Dec 1945, and the facilities were taken part over the years for conversion into farmland.
