    VIKTOR AND ALEXEI: FOR THE MOTHERLAND!

    Both soldiers ware the M35 sidecap with the red star center of cap. Uniform shirt is the M43 single breasted with standup collar, the traditional "Rubaha" both men have been awarded the Defence of Leningrad Medal.

    Man on the left, looks like he is a Senior Lieutenant with three stars on his shoulder boards thats my guess.
    Man on the right, with one stripe center of his shoulder boards denotes a Junior Officer
    he's been awarded the Order of the Red Star
    this award was issued to 4,000,000 men, the other medal I can't identify due to the reflection of sunlight. Did both men survive World War II, and return to their families to live long quite peaceful lives...
