Famous WW2 Quote
"All right, they're on our left, they're on our right, they're in front of us, they're behind us... they can't get away this time."Lt. Gen. Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller, at Guadalcanal

GOTT MIT UNS / GOD IS WITH US
This phrase was commonly associated with the
German Military, from the German Empire to the end of The Third Reich.
As German troops marched their way across Europe invading other countries, killing millions of people, they wore a belt buckle proclaiming God's endorsement "Gott Mit Uns"
the buckles were issued to enlisted man and
to non-commissioned officers NCOs.
NAZISM AND CHRISTIANITY...
Hitler saw religion as a tool, to seize the masses. The National Socialist State, like any totalitarian regime, or ideology demands
faith and commitment.
Propaganda regulated all media and thought. Millions of Germans who were not members of the Nazi Party still served the state.
BLESSED ARE THOSE...
The Chaplains were conscripted into service
they were situatd between two loyalties, the State and the Church.
Many served in the medical corps and with front-line units. How did those men face the
moral dilemma of being a Chaplian in Hitler's
Germany and the obligations to God and Man.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
Personsl note *
When I was in Vietnam,I went when opportunity
was possible to every religious service.
It was there, one could get some extra sleep
for one hour, there was no war, no operations
close my eyes, and pray to be going home.
I told Almighty God, that if you roll the dice, and let me survive I'll live my life the best I can.

There are those who haven't seen war its
very difficult for them to understand what another human being goes through, beyond normal human experience.
Served 46 months, of my 48 month enlistment
went to W. Germany, for ten months and than volunteered for duty in Vietnam twice.
"Youth is the first victim of war, the first fruit of peace. It takes 20 years or more of peace to make a man, It takes 20 seconds of war to destroy him..."
