ww2dbaseThe RPG-40 anti-tank hand grenades were introduced into the Soviet forces in 1940. The 760-gram TNT filling was capable of penetrating 20 millimeters of armor. They were superseded by RPG-43 in 1943 as they became ineffective against thicker German armor commonly seen later in the war.
