SHIMANOUCHI, Momochio, Captain, I.J.N.

SHIMANOUCHI served 17 years in the regular Navy. From March 1944 he was a member of the Staff, 16th Cruiser Division, composed of the Aoba (F), Oi, Kinu and Ashigara. He particpated in operations in the PHILIPPINE Area as well as the "KON" Operation which was an unsuccessful attempt to reinforce BIAK. He furnished a complete and detailed description of the above operation including the track chart.
