ww2dbaseFührer Directives were instructions and strategic plans issued by Adolf Hitler. These instructions superseded laws of the German government as Hitler was considered to be above the law. The first directive was issued in 1939 and the last, number 52, was issued in 1943.

Führer Orders were issued later in the war. They tended to be less strategic and more specific in nature. ww2dbase

Directive 17 - Issued 1 August 1940.

I would like to know if the above directive is the "only" directive issued by Hitler where he reserves the right to launch terror attacks as measures of reprisals? Has anyone ever studied and compared the Directives? Cheers

Famous WW2 Quote
"You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terrors. Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival."
