  • Aging Australian cruiser HMAS Brisbane was recommissioned for the purpose of transferring a crew to Britain for operating the future cruiser HMAS Sydney (currently HMS Phaeton). Brisbane departed for Britain later on this day. ww2dbase [Sydney | CPC]
