- USS S-31 was decommissioned from service and placed in reserve at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. ww2dbase [S-31 | CPC]
- Chiang Kaishek departed Nanjing, China by plane. The civilian administration of the city was left to an International Committee led by John Rabe.
