I'm betting this P-40 is having its 6 x .50 cal. machine guns bore sighted. The .50 caliber round was a heavy slug and did a lot of damage against the lighter Japanese aircraft a few burst's would do the job. Check out the 52 gallon drop tank. That "A" frame helps but its still a lot of heavy work.
