Note the large deck number painted on the forward flight deck upside down. This number is aligned correctly for a 9 but wrong way around for the 6 that should appear on the Enterprise. Wasp (Essex-class) also had her 18 bow number applied upside down for several weeks and Yorktown (Essex-class) briefly had her bow 10 painted upside down.
