lET'S LISTEN IN TO WHAT IKE REALLY SAID:
WERE GOING TO HOLD ON TO HIM THE(GERMANS)BY THE NOSE AND WE'RE GOING TO KICK HIM IN THE BUTT. WE'RE GOING TO KICK THE HUN, AND KICK HIM ALL THE TIME. AND WE'RE GOING THROUGH HIM LIKE POOP THROUGH A GOOSE.
THIRTY YEARS FROM NOW, WHEN YOU'RE SITTING AROUND YOUR FIRESIDE, WITH YOUR GRANDSON ON YOUR KNEE AND HE ASKS YOU, "WHAT DID YOU DO IN THE GREAT WWII, YOU WON'T HAVE TO SAY,
"WELL...I SHOVELED POOP IN LOUISANA"
PARDON ME, SIR, BUT DIDN'T GEORGE C. SCOTT SAY THOSE LINES IN THE 1970 MOVIE "PATTON"
SAY, DIDN'T I HEAR MY AID CALL...GOTTA GO
I THANK THE EDITOR/WW2DB FOR ALLOWING ME TO ADD THIS HUMOR...

I saw a program with Susan Eisenhower (Ike's grandaughter) on CSPAN and she said that Ike was talking to a trooper about fly fishing and was making a casting motion when this photo was taken/

Famous WW2 Quote
"You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terrors. Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival."Winston Churchill
