Aerial view of the airstrip facilities on Falalop Island, Ulithi Atoll, Caroline Islands, 1945. Falalop was the center of the aerial patrol efforts to protect the US Navy’s forward anchorage at Ulithi.Aerial view of Peleliu in Oct 1946.  Many facilities have been built and the jungle growth has returned to the coral island since the fierce fighting of 1944 stripped it bare.
