After arriving in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in early Mar 1942, USS Trout crew members stacked 9 tons of gold bars and 13 tons of silver pesos evacuated from Corregidor, Philippines on the submarine’s deck for transfer to the USS Detroit.US Navy Adms R.
