ww2dbaseThe Semovente 105/25 tank destroyers were developed by marrying 105-millimeter guns with M15/42 tank chassis. They entered production on 2 Apr 1943, and 30 of them were delivered to the Italian Army before the Sep 1943 surrender; after which time, a number of them were captured by the German forces and pressed into service under the designation Sturmgeschütz M43 mit 105/25 853(i). Under German supervision, Italian factories built an additional 60 examples for the German military.
