  • Donald Bryan, flying a P-51 fighter, shot down 1 of the 11 Ar 234B-1 jet bombers attacking the Ludendorff Bridge at Remagen, Germany. Hauptman Hans Hirshberger failed to bail out and was killed in the crash; this was his first and final combat mission. ww2dbase [Remagen, Köln-Aachen | CPC]
