- Kong Xiangxi announced the nationalization of the Bank of China and the Bank of Communications. He also demanded his brother-in-law and former Minister of Finance Song Ziwen to become the Chairman of the Board and General Manager of the Bank of China, but ultimately Song would only assume the position of Chairman of the Board. ww2dbase [Kong Xiangxi | CPC]
