ww2dbaseThe Cantieri Tosi (English: Tosi Shipyard) was located in Taranto, Italy on the shore of Mare Piccolo. Established in late 1914, the firm mainly constructed submarines and other small warships. After the war, it was renamed Cantieri Navali di Taranto (English: Taranto Naval Shipyard). In 1959, it was acquired by the financial holding company Fincantieri, and in the following year it was renamed Società Officine di Costruzioni e Riparazioni Navali di Taranto (English: Taranto Naval Construction and Repair Company). After several ownership changes in the subsequent decades, all operations ceased in Dec 1990. At the time of this writing in 2019, the site currently operates in the metallurgy industry.
