After careful comparison between how the Glan River winds through Klagenfurt and how the Salzach River winds through Salzburg (extremely similar) I have concluded that you are correct that this photo was taken over Salzburg. The caption has been adjusted accordingly. Thank you for pointing this out.

My grandmother's apartment on Farber Strasse 5020 Salzburg (near the railway station unfortunately) was bombed sometime in WWII. She and my mother(born in 1940) had to move to another property for the remainder of WW2. Does anyone have any info on the dates/missions that the Allies conducted their bombing raids. I'm trying to piece together my grandmother's life. Thank you very much.

There has been a mistagging of the picture.
The picture shows B-24 Liberators of the 8th USAAF bombing the railyard of SALZBURG, Austria in late 1944.
