Handling the can are Vern Stephens (left), 8-time All-Star shortstop with the St. Louis Browns, and Vince DiMaggio, 2-time All-Star outfielder with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Standing is George Stovall, retired player and manager for the Kansas City Packers. Apparently, these players worked at the shipyard during the off-season since neither of them missed many games during the war years.
