US 5th Armored 'Regiment'? The US Army had a 5th Armored Division, and post-war, a 5th Armored Brigade, but I've never come across a 5th Armored Regiment in US Army nomenclature. But then again, never too old to learn something new.

Other sources agree (or at least, repeat the same information). There is still room for this to be in error, but that is the best information currently available.
