The French used the M 24 Chaffee in the 50s
in Indochina after the French left, they were passed on to the South Vietnamese Army.
During my two tours in Vietnam, I was able
to see operational Chaffee's on convoy security, stationed at bridges and other locations in Saigon, they were also dug in at
ARVN Basecamps.
After the Tet Offensive of 1968 while on operations, one could see some of the knocked
out ARVN and US Tanks and other vehicles in the field, they the sights I have never forgotten.
