The Royal Bulgarian Air Force received 50
Messerschmitt Bf 109E's from Germany, 11 of them were new, the others were refurbished
ex-Luftwaffe machines.
The Bf 109's were in front-line service until 1943, and were later replaced by
Bf 109G's. The early E Models, were used in secondary duties. Photo could have been taken at Zagora, Airfield 1942/43.
