FLYING TIGERS: HELLS ANGLES

Curtiss P-40B/C models were to be sent to the British, but later shipped to China and saw service with the AVG. The designation P-40B/C is not technically correct However, the AVG used both designation P-40B/C and Hawk 81A-2.
Aircraft number 68, was flown by Charles Older.

This famous photo was take by fellow AVG pilot
Robert T. Smith with 8.90 kills. Before joining the AVG, Smith was an instructor pilot with the USAAC at Randolph Field.

PATROL OVER CHINA 1942: AMERICAN RESOLVE

3rd Squadron Hell's Angles on patrol 1942. According to different sources, list that Arvid Olsen is flying number 68, that was assigned to Charles Older when this famous photo was taken.
