CODE NAME "LILY"

Formation of Lily bombers of the 12th light bomber and 65th regiments.

The Imperial Japanese Army Air Force operated the Kawasaki Ki-48, Type 99 twin-engine bomber.
Lily operated with the army in the Central Pacific, Korea and China. The Ki-48 was short ranged and had to be ferried by aircraft carrier to their operational areas.
Did you know that the (IJA) Imperial Japanese Army operated its own light carrier force that was separate from the (IJN) Imperial Japanese Navy. After Japan's surrender abandoned a/c
were salvaged by newly formed air forces and operated into the late 1940's early 1950's after WWII.
