This is Doolittle Crew #7 (seventh to fly off Hornet). L to R they are: Lt Charles L McClure (Navigator), Lt Ted W Lawson (Pilot), Lt Robert S Clever (Bombardier), Lt Dean Davenport (Co-Pilot), Sgt David J Thatcher (Engineer/Gunner). All survived the mission after ditching near the Chinese coast, although Lt Lawson had one leg amputated while still in China. Lt Clever was killed in an aviation accident in Ohio six months after the mission but the other four survived the war. Ted Lawson wrote the famous book Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo that also became a successful movie.
