Supposedly the Ryujo was sunk Aug 24,1942. The USS Wahoo said she saw Ryujo with her 4 masts up on Oct 5,1942 headed NW. Hiyo and Junyo had left Japan on Oct 4,1942. How can we figure out what Wahoo saw. Also TROMs state that Hiyo and Junyo were escorted by DDs Isoname & Izanuma but don't say that they travelled together.

Ryujo was definitely sunk on 24 August 1942. See http://www.combinedfleet.com/ryujo.htm.
