This photo was taken in front of Montgomery’s command trailers which were doubling as the forward HQ of Montgomery’s 21st Army Group. Lt General Miles Christopher Dempsey was commander of 2nd Army. Field Marshall Sir Alan Brooke was Chief of the Imperial General Staff.
