Nakajima J1N1-Sa some night fighters, were
fitted with A1 radar the external antenna
can be seen installed on the nose. The aircraft also carried a small searchlight in the nose.

When no radar or searchlight was installed
it was armed with forward firing 20mm Type 99 Model 2 Cannons.
