The Royal Scots Fusiliers amalgamated with the Highland Light Infantry in 1959 to become the Royal Highland Fusiliers (Princess Margaret's Own Glasgow and Ayrshire Regiment) which is today the 2nd Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland.
