There is some uncertainty about this photo. The above caption is derived from the original photo caption and the photographer was a Cummings sailor but the Japanese personnel boarding the ship to not appear to be comprised as described in the Cummings war diaries. There were more comings and goings of Japanese personnel at this time aboard the USS Dunlap and it remains a possibility that this photo was taken aboard Dunlap.
