The airplane in the foreground #44-74488 crashed in Korea on 7 Jul 1951. The airplane in the background #44-74597 crashed near Pyongyang, North Korea 14 Aug 1951 due to battle damage and the pilot was killed.
Note also in the distant background are barely visible P-51D Mustangs of the South African Air Force No. 2 Squadron.
