The Roundup and Texas style barbecue was held at Ala Moana Park in Honolulu. Admiral Nimitz is wearing a Texas cowboy hat sent to him by Amon Carter, a prominent Ft. Worth newspaper man. Note Nimitz’s left hand holding the microphone stand showing his missing left ring finger.
