Bu No 0297 was lost at the Battle of Midway (4Jun1942) as part of the Hornet air group, VT-8.
Aircrft T-3, crewed by pilot ENS William Robinson Evans, Jr. (KIA)and rear gunner Ross Eugene Bibb, Jr., ARM3c (KIA).
