The Nakajima Ki-49 (Helen) was used by the J.A.A.F. The crews were trained at the Hamamatsu Heavy Bomber School. The 7th Sentai used the Nakajima Ki-49(Helen)and the Mitsubishi Ki-67(Peggy)bombers. The 107th Sentai used the Mitsubishi Ki-109, that was a heavy fighter version of the Peggy bomber. In July 1945 the unit's were disbanded. Today, Hamamatsu-Minami is an active Air Base used by the Japanese Self Defence Force.
