040821 Comment on picture PO2819.002 Neth. Indies Army Forces on Borneo. Late May 1945. I strongly suggest you verify this date. WW II in South East Asia ended 15 August 1945.,
when Japan surrendered.

Date confirmed. The Tarakan campaign took place in May 1945 three months before the Japanese surrendered. This was not a vital campaign in the advance on Japan that ended the war and was well behind the main front.
