John, your father in this picture is my father's cousin. He has told the story behind this picture and the stained glass window many times, and I decided to do a search to see if I could find it. Your email was not listed, but please feel free to contact me at barbara.campbell125@gmail.com

My dad Petty officer 2nd class class was William A. Bachman Jr. He was a corpsman assigned to the 4th Marine Division and was on Iwo Jima. When he saw this photo he said that it looked like him but he couldn't confirm it. His facial features closely resembled photos of him at the time. WW2 changed him forever. He said Iwo Jima was hell. He didn't talk too much about it. He came home unscathed physically. He suffered from PTSD but wouldn't ever admit it. Sadly he passed away in 1993. He is greatly missed. He was a dedicated corpsman and I firmly believe that he saved a lot of lives. I am very proud of my dad and his service. I am equally proud and thankful of all veterans and their sacrifices. God bless the Navy, Marines and the US of A.
