Meridionali Ro.43/Ro.44 Contemporary with the Ro.37, the Ro.43 was designed as a two-seat fighter/reconnaissance floatplane for ship-based service. When Italy entered WWII in June 1940 the Ro.43 was the Italian navy's standard shiplaunched aircraft. 100 being in service, and by the time of the Armistice in Sept. 1943 about half were still on strength. Operators: Italian and Spanish Naval Air Arms.
