THE PTRD-41 ANTI-TANK RIFLE, FIRED A 14.5mm
ROUND MADE FROM STEEL OR TUNGSTEN CORE, THE WEAPON WAS A SINGLE-SHOT FEED SYSTEM AND WEIGHTED ABOUT 38LBS.LOOKS LIKE OUR GUN CREW HAS BEEN ISSUED THE M40 STEEL HELMET,PADDED WINTER JACKETS AND TROUSERS,FELT OVERBOOTS AND ARMED WITH THE PPSh-41 SUB MACHINE GUN.

A GOOD CREW COULD FIRE BETWEEN 6 TO 8 ROUNDS A MINUTE GUNNERS WOULD AIM FOR DRIVER VISION PORTS, TRACKS, ENGINE COMPARTMENTS, BETWEEN THE HULL AND THE LOWER TURRET HOPING TO JAM THE TURRET.
EARLY IN THE WAR, THE PTRD-41 WAS EFFECTIVE AGAINST THE LIGHTER PzKpfw I & IIs, WITH ANY LUCK, AGAINST THE MK. IIIs & MK.IVs.
GUN CREWS HAD TO GET IN CLOSE, IT COULD KNOCK OUT THIN-SKINNED VEHICLES, LIKE TRUCKS SELF-PROPELLED GUNS AND HALF-TRACKS, HOWEVER AGAINST THE PANTHER AND TIGER, IT WAS INEFFECTIVE.

WHEN A ROUND PENETRATED THE HULL OR INTO THE VISION PORTS, IT WOULD RICOCHET AROUND INSIDE CREATING EVEN MORE DAMAGE KILLING,OR WOUNDING THE CREW, OR CAUSING DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT INSIDE THE TANK.
