I come from Munda and is collecting the local stories from folks who were in their teens or childhood during the war. I was not born at that time and find it interesting to hear their experiences of the war. Thank you very much for sharing the photo of Munda airfield.

My uncle Corporal Al Howard lost his life while repairing the airfield following a Japanese attack.

I spent a year at Munda,New Georgia during WW2,witnessed two P38s collide over the Air Strip while doing a victory fly-over,also heard their conversation on a radio as it happened.This was early 1944.
