Finally the historical portrayal of WW2 African American soldiers as a USAAF 1ST SGT. Although this soldiers Unit shown on his uniforms left shoulder is withheld. And the actual location of the photograph taken is also withheld.

TOP GIVES'EM THE LOWDOWN:
Morris O. Harris is a Company 1st Sergeant
and that rank, has a lot of pull, even 2nd
Lieutenants listen to his experience.
LET'S LISTEN IN:
1st Sgt, Harris, Okay you want to know how thick the armor is, its 12.72mm/.5" on the upper hull and 64cm/.25" on the sides, so ask me how thick do you think this GI shirt is.
We carry .45 Caliber M1A1s,.30 Caliber M1 Carbines, Grenades, Mines, Both .50 and .30 Caliber Machine guns, and all the ammo we can carry plus rations and gas.
Just ask'in Top thats all, its for the folks back home, and the Stars & Stripes you know, the GI Newspaper. One more thing Top, can I drive it around.
Do I look like a used car salesman to you now get, and do what ever you do...before I put you on a detail.
UNIFORM OF THE DAY:
Our GIs have been issued the M1 Steel helmet
Correspondent Ted Stanford is wearing the
M43 field jacket w/OD Trousers and the M43
double-buckle boots.
1st Sergeant Harris is wearing OD fatigues
w/light OD belt and M43 double-buckle boots.
Machine gun on top the M3 looks like its a
M1919, .30 Caliber weapon.
I thank the editor/ww2db for allowing me to add humor to this photograph.
TWO MEN OF THE GREATEST GENERATION:
Thank you 1st Sergeant Morris O. Harris and
War Correspondent Ted Stanford. I hope both of you have lived long and peaceful lives.
