EARLY VICTORIES: ADVANCE
The Panzer III was designed as a medium tank, with more firepower and armor and was assigned to many of the German Panzer formations. The early Panzer III were armed w/37mm guns, later up gunned with 50mm and 75mm guns.
MAIN ARMAMENT:
50mm, 75mm with 92 to 121 rounds. Depending on variant
SECONDARY ARMAMENT:
2 or 3 MG34 7.92mm machine guns with 2,700 to 4,200 rounds depending on variant. (6) smoke grenades
launchers, crew personal weapons pistols, MP40, hand grenades and mines.
Like the Panzer I and Panzer II many Panzer III's chassis, were rebuilt as 150mm StuG33b guns and StuG assault guns. Losses on the Eastern Front were as high as 60% for these vehicles...
