WW2-era bomb defused in Frankfurt
During WW2, the USAAF bombed Frankfurt, Germany several times between 1943 and 1944. One of the bombs, unexploded, was found in the Ostend area of downtown Frankfurt in Jun 2019. On 7 Jul 2019, the defusing operation took place as scheduled, and it was completed successfully. Prior to the defusing operation, about 16,500 people were contacted for precautionary evacuation.
