ww2dbaseYevdokia Bershanskaya was born in Dobrovolnoye, Stavropol Governorate, Russia in 1913. In 1941, she was made the deputy commanding officer of the all-female 588th Night Bomber Regiment (renamed 46th Taman Guards Night Bomber Aviation Regiment in 1943), flying Po-2 biplanes. She retired from the Soviet Air Force when the regiment was disbanded. She received the Order of the Red Banner, Order of Suvorov, and other decorations for her WW2 service. She passed away from a heart attack in 1982. She was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow, Russia.
