ww2dbaseCharles Fenno Jacobs was born in Waltham, Massachusetts, United States in 1904. He spent a number of years in the Merchant Marine before returning to the United States to become a photographer. During WW2, he was recruited by Edward Steichen to join his Naval Aviation Photographic Unit. He photographed aircraft workers in California, United States, the crewmembers of USS New Jersey, among other topics. After the war, he succeeded in demanding a job with Fortune magazine, which assigned him to document life in postwar Europe. He passed away in Englewood, New Jersey, United States in 1974.
