ww2dbaseFrançois Flohic joined the Free French Navy in Britain in Jul 1940 and saw action on Murmansk, Russia convoys and the invasion of Normandy, France aboard corvette Roselys. After the war, he served as Charles de Gaulle's aide between 1959 and 1964. Between 1964 and 1965, he was a squadron commander. In 1969, he again became de Gaulle's aide. Between 1969 and 1971, he served as the commanding officer of helicopter carrier Jeanne d'Arc.
