Such detailed description of uniforms can be found for many of the service groups.
Because of the author Alejandro de Quesada's expertise in the history of the American state of Florida, a small number of war-time photographs taken in Florida can be found in the book, which can be a new treat for many readers. For example, the page 18 photograph of Florida Defense Force men training with rifles, now in the collection of the Pinellas County Historical Commission, is a photograph that I have no yet seen before.
The back cover of The US Home Front 1941-45 noted that many of the organizations presented in the book are "quite forgotten since 1945". This effort of Alejandro de Quesada's is a rather good attempt at passing on the history of these auxiliary, patriotic, humanitarian, and other war-time organizations in the United States during the WW2 era.
