ww2dbaseZH-29 semi-automatic rifles were designed by Vaclav Holek in the early 1920s. Significant quantities were exported to China and used in the subsequent struggle with Japan, while some of them were captured after the German annexation of Czechoslovakia and used in the field.

It is a mistake, look carefully!!!! That chinese soldier does not have on his shoulder a ZH-29 rifle!!! It is a czech ZB-26 LIGHT MACHINE GUN!

FILE PHOTO: SHOWS A CHINESE SOLDIER PROFILE SHOULDERING A ZH-29 RIFLE. THIS WEAPON WAS A GAS-OPERATED, AIR COOLED, 25 ROUND MAGAZINE FED RIFLE, THAT USED THE 7.92x57 MAUSER OR THE 7x57 MAUSER ROUND.
LIKE ALL CZECH WEAPONS SOME WERE USED BY THE GERMANS HOWEVER, DURING THE OCCUPATION ZH-29
